Steak with Coffee Chocolate Sauce

- Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
- 4 x 300g frying steak of your choice
- Salt and pepper, to season steak
- 1 tbsp oil
For the sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 large onion, halved and sliced
- ½ cup red wine
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup liquid beef stock
- ½ cup water
- 1 x 8g square of Ola Pacifica Coffee Chocolate, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to season sauce
METHOD
- Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the oil over a medium to high heat in a non stick frying pan or skillet and cook two steaks at a time to your liking (approximately 3-4 minutes per side to cook medium rare).
- Once cooked, remove from pan and let the steak rest on a warm plate while you make the sauce.
Make sauce:
- In the same frying pan used for the steak, over a medium heat, add the butter and onion, and cook until onion is soft.
- Stir in the red wine, brown sugar, beef stock and water and simmer for 8 - 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until sauce is reduced by half.
- Stir in the chopped Ola Pacifica Coffee Chocolate until melted through.
- Season with a little salt and pepper to your liking.
